ABC's for Becoming a Christian

A stands for Admit to God that you are a sinner. Repent, that is turn away from your sin.

• Romans 3:23 "for all have sinned and fall short of the Glory of God"
• Acts 3:19 "Repent therefore, and turn back, that your sins may be blotted out"

B stands for Believe that Jesus is God's Son and accept God's gift of forgiveness from sin.

• Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace you have been saved through faith.  And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so no one may boast.

C stands for Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

• Romans 10:9 "if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."

Important Definitions:

• Sin - choosing my ways instead of God's way.  Sin separates people from God
• Repent - turn from doing wrong and determine to do right.
